Autumnal walks in the heart of Milan

09/09/2024

Senato Hotel Milano, with its central location, is an ideal starting point for those who want to discover the best of the city, and autumn in Milan is a time of refined beauty.

In this first itinerary, we start from Brera and travel through some of the most fascinating, and sometimes lesser-known, places in the center to the futuristic Piazza Gae Aulenti, revealing the coolest side of Milan.

Departing from Giardino Perego: A Corner of Peace

Not far from Senato Hotel Milano, the Giardino Perego is an oasis of tranquillity before plunging into the vitality of Brera. Its tree-lined avenues and intimate atmosphere are perfect for starting an autumn stroll with the right vibe.

At Brera: A Cultural Immersion

We begin at one of Milan's best-known cultural centres, the Brera Art Gallery. In autumn, the soft light enhances the timeless beauty of Brera's historic buildings, creating an evocative atmosphere. Hidden behind the Pinacoteca is the Orto Botanico, a garden that is one of Milan's best-kept secrets. In autumn, the warm colours of the leaves and the tranquillity of the place offer an ideal refuge from the chaos of the city.

A Walk among the Flowers: Via Fiori Chiari

This picturesque street with a bohemian soul is perfect for an autumn stroll. Open-air cafés and art galleries create the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing break. Treat yourself to a coffee and watch the hustle and bustle that characterises this area.

Via Solferino: Elegance and History

Just a few steps from Brera, Via Solferino is a concentration of style and history. Here you'll find independent boutiques and historic bookshops, as well as famous haunts loved by the Milanese, where you can stop for a meal or a glass of wine.

Corso Garibaldi: Tradition and Innovation

Continuing along Corso Garibaldi, one encounters a fascinating mix of historic shops and trendy new openings. This street is the symbol of Milan's evolution, where past and present coexist harmoniously. Stop at one of the many cafés or discover little gems hidden along the way.

Piazza Gae Aulenti: The Contemporary Finale

To end the walk, head to Corso Como and Piazza Gae Aulenti, where Milan's modern skyscrapers meet the city skyline. This futuristic district offers a stark contrast to the historical alleys of Brera, but represents the dynamic and constantly evolving soul of Milan.
